Bylaws

Bylaws are laws approved by Stz’uminus First Nation Chief and Council to help control certain activities within our community. Bylaws are currently enacted under the authority of the Indian Act and apply only on our four reserves over which we have jurisdiction. Bylaws are a type of legislation, authorized by an Act of Parliament of Canada. An integral part of any settlement under the BC Treaty Process will be the creation of a Stz’uminus First Nation Constitution and an ability to enact laws in accordance with our traditions.
