Chief & Council Members

Stz置minus First Nation elects a 11-member council every two years, Although we currently function under the Indian Act election system, we are currently considering creating our own custom election code. Council operates according to a Code of Conduct. The Code establishes rules and procedures to govern the conduct of councillors, how business is conducted and how council maintains its accountability to community members.

Council meetings are open to members unless council is operating in camera when sensitive or confidential items are being discussed, including personnel issues. Persons wishing to meet with council must submit a request in writing to the CFN Administrator. The request is brought to the next regularly scheduled meeting of council where a decision is made.
