Newsletter & Print Shop

The Stzu’minus newsletter has become required reading for the CFN community since it began publishing in April 1997.

The newsletter has all the features of a local newspaper. It contains news articles, reports from Council and various departments within Administration as well as feature articles about Elders, personalities and high achievers from the community. Colour photographs of community events and activities are also a popular feature of the newsletter.

In addition to publishing Stz’uminus, the newsletter coordinator also runs a printing shop that produces a range of brochures, newsletters and other material for SFN departments and external organizations. Recent clients have included:
• Aboriginal Financial Officers of BC
• Coast Salish Gathering
• Snuneymuxw First Nation
• Traditional Seafoods of Vancouver Island First Nations
• Kw’umut Lelum Child and Family Services Society

The backbone of our print shop is a Riso digital duplicator that is able to produce full-colour documents at very reasonable prices. The Riso printer is linked to a digital collator and booklet maker. The department also has colour and black-and-white laser printers.
